It's not what you think.
After a decade of teaching yoga it became clear that one of the most effective areas of my work as a yoga-life educator happened in the time before and after yoga class when a student would ask, “Lauran, Do you have a minute to talk?”
The hours I spent at the studio openly listening to students transformed me and propelled me deeper on the path of understanding “why” we do what we do and “how” to develop new frameworks that enable us to thrive and experience true fulfillment.
My approach yoga educator and mindfulness coach is as intuitive as it is intelligent, leveraging a lifetime of spiritual and personal studies, as well as, Human Needs Psychology, Universal Mythology and Hatha Yoga.
I am not a psychologist, nor am I a psychiatrist. My work addresses the immediate experience of the body-mind. Together we identify current and dominant self-told stories, reveal how these stories paint our present emotional, mental, and physical landscape, and then shift our focus from the unwanted story-lines to stories that empower.
Lasting personal growth demands taking moment-to-moment responsibility for our actions, behaviors, language and emotional states. Sometimes we need help taking those steps.
The reward is in the work.
